How to take care of your smartphone battery the right way

• For the most part going from all the way full to all the way empty won't help; in fact, it'll do a little damage if you do it too often.

• It's smart to do one full discharge about once a month for "calibration," but don't do it all the time.

• Running the whole gamut on a regular basis won't make your battery explode or anything, but it will shorten its lifespan.

• But! You don't want to have it charging all the time either; lithium-ion batteries can get overheated. Luckily for you, your charger is smart enough to help with this, and will cut your phone off for a spell once it's full.

• Battery doesn't particularly like being all the way full either. In fact, your battery will behave the best if you take it off the charge before it hits 100 percent.

• And leaving it plugged when it's already full is going to cause a little degradation.

• If you're really particular about optimizing your battery's life, you should try to go from around 40 percent to around 80 percent in one go.

• Bunch of tiny charges isn't as bad as going from 100 down to zero all the time, but it's not optimal either.

• Your smartphone's battery will degrade much much faster when it's hot, regardless of whether it's being used or just sitting around doing nothing.

• Avoid wireless charging. Wireless chargers out there today have this nasty habit of generating a fair bit of waste heat. And while wasted energy is just a bummer in general, that heat will also toast your battery in the process.

• Standard plug-in charging is going to keep your battery in better shape.

• Never go to zero. Try to leave it with at least 40 percent battery power to tide it over.

• When lithium-ion batteries get too low—like, literally zero percent—they get seriously unstable, and dangerous to charge. To prevent explosion-type disasters if you do try to charge one, lithium-ion batteries have built-in self-destruct circuits that will disable (read: destroy) the battery for good, if it reaches rock bottom. And sure, that'll save you from a face full of battery-acid, but it'll also leave you short one battery. 

• The slight damage of a technically bad idea like leaving your phone plugged in all night every night, or using wireless charging, might be worth the convenience.

• Avoiding particularly egregious torture like letting your phone discharge from full to zero every single day, or leaving it in a hot car all the time.

Play Dota Online without an original copy of Warcraft

3D Eyewear

Call of Duty: Black Ops To Be Released

Treyarch and Activision Blizzard just released the world premiere trailer for ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’.

The trailer is just amazing and with news that dedicated servers for PC are going to be part of the game makes it even more amazing. I need to start making a schedule of how to spend my time playing all these FPS shooters. Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available worldwide on November 9 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and PC.




And i'm pretty sure this ones gonna be awesome as Modern Warfare 2.

The Modern Warfare Fight

Time to cross a few more names off of the Modern Warfare 2 credits as the departures continue from Activision studio Infinity Ward. [Updated with one more name]

Senior designers Mohammad Alavi and Chad Grenier (update: and Brent McLeod) are out, along with programmer Chris Lambert and designer Jason McCord.

That brings the list of departures from Infinity Ward up to at least 17 since the start of the ongoing Modern Warfare drama. This saga became public in March when IW heads Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired by parent company Activision due to alleged wrong-doing including acts of "insubordination."

Last week, West and Zampella announced the formation of a new game-making studio, Respawn Entertainment, and a publishing deal with Activision rival EA. Yesterday, seven of the departed Infinity Ward developers were confirmed to be going to Respawn.

There is no word yet about where the latest freshly ex-Infinity Ward game makers will go.

Departures are commonplace among all development tea,s, but the rash of exits from Infinity Ward does appear to present a challenge for the studio behind Modern Warfare, a studio Activision has been determined to keep viable given the commercial and critical reception of its Modern Warfare and Call of Duty work.

Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing

Valve release the first official ‘Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing’ DLC promo video, starring good old Francis and new girl on the block Rochelle.

Hopefully, we will see more of these funny short videos of the old ‘Left 4 Dead’ gang meeting with the new ‘Left 4 Dead 2′ gang.

In "The Passing," players will meet up with the original Left 4 Dead's survivors, Francis, Bill, Zoey and Louis, who will appear as non-playable characters. Valve's Chet Faliszek told Kotaku that Left 4 Dead 2's survivors will rendezvous with the original quartet later on in the campaign, and that they will aid Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle in finishing the third map in the campaign.

"The Passing" will also add one new uncommon common infected type, which Valve is calling the Fallen Survivor. These new zombies, humans who erroneously believed themselves to be immune to the infection, will sometimes drop items when killed, like health kits or ammo.

That new add-on will offer an opportunity to see more of the original cast's character traits, Faliszek said, storylines that will likely be explored in the Left 4 Dead digital comic book that will arrive after "The Passing." That comic will be illustrated by Powers artist Michael Avon Oeming.

Then, about a "month or so" after that, Valve plans to release an add-on for the first Left 4 Dead, an episode that will tell the story of the original survivors' journey to "The Passing." That unnamed Left 4 Dead add-on will only be playable on the original game, not in the sequel.

Valve says it plans to release "The Passing" on Xbox 360 and PC in "late March" with more details on the Left 4 Dead downloadable content coming soon.

How to Restore Your Privacy on Facebook

It is simply impossible to have the old Facebook experience with the old level of privacy. If you want the old level of privacy, you're going to have to give up some functionality; if you want all the old functionality, you're going to have to give up some privacy. Below, we detail what you'd need to do to maximize privacy, so you can decide for yourself whether to go down that road.
Remove your "connections," e.g. education and work, current city, likes and interests
Facebook is in the process of rolling out a new system of "connections" that publicly shares information whose disclosure you used to be able to control through privacy settings, "including your current city, hometown, education and work, and likes and interests."
The sharing of this information will happen after Facebook prompts you—if it hasn't already—to convert data entries in your profile into "connections" to pages representing various places, groups, interests, political causes, and so on. But unlike in the past, when you could choose to shield who saw your interest in, say, pot legalization, this information will now be public, and your account would be linked from the pot legalization interest page.
In short, as the Electronic Frontier Foundation put it, "Facebook removed its users' ability to control who can see their own interests and personal information"
To keep this information private, you need to opt out of the "connections" Facebook offers you. The relevant information will then be missing from the appropriate section of your profile, so you'll need to stuff it all into your free-form "Bio."
At some point when you visit your Facebook profile, you'll see the dialog below. Click on the far left button, "Choose pages individually:"

Then uncheck any "connections" you don't want made public. Make a note of these connections, since they'll be removed from your profile and you may want to add them to your "Bio" later.
Once you've opted out, you can restore any information you'd like to selectively share into the "bio" section of your profile, the free-form text area of your profile under your photo. Before you enter data there, make sure you're happy with the privacy settings for that section. Click on "Account" on the top right of your profile page, select "Privacy settings" from the drop-down, then "Profile Information." "Bio" privacy settings will be listed on the first line.
Prune — or utterly nuke — your apps
Facebook recently lifted some privacy restrictions on how outside developers handle Facebook data. Previously they could only retain said data for 24 hours, now they can hold on to the data as long as they like. Facebook used to prompt users before sharing data with a partner site, but, as VentureBeat points out, it will no longer do so for "special" partners like Yelp, Pandora and Microsoft. Also, some Facebook sharing that needed two or three pop-up dialogs to authorize now require just one.
The changes are even riskier than they appear, as ReadWriteWeb said: Now that non-Facebook websites are allowed to hoard Facebook user data, said sites will become inviting targets for hackers. And it's your Facebook data the hackers will be after. Of course, you have to worry about more than just computer crackers, since there's not much enforcement over how even authorized Facebook developers use the data they collect. If they want to mislead you and misappropriate your data, they can — and given the track record of Facebook's partners, they just might. If that happens, have fun suing for your privacy back.
Prevention is better than damage control, of course, and the one security measure at your disposal is to whittle or eliminate the outside apps you choose to share data with. Lifehacker's Kevin Purdy put together a nice guide on this, which we'll crib from here:
Go to "Account" at the top-right of your profile page. Select "Application settings" from the drop-down. Then from the "Show" menu select "Authorized." Click to enlarge:


Click the "X" next to any app you don't use, don't trust or otherwise want to remove. After clicking "X" you'll have to click "Remove" and then "Okay." For any app you choose to keep, you should probably review its privacy settings by clicking "Edit Settings" and the "Additional permissions" tab. Uncheck any sharing feature you're not comfortable with, although be aware this could break the app's Facebook functionality.

Max Payne 3 : To be released

It has been almost seven years from now when Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was released. It became an outstanding hit among the gamers  and eared it self a game rating of 9.4

People, the excitement is not yet over because Rockstar Vancouver are developing Max Payne 3. The game was originally scheduled for release in late 2009. However, it was pushed back to 2010 alongside several other Take Two Interactive franchises in order to "benefit from having more development time." The game is now expected to be released on November 30th this year.

DOTA vs WOW

Both DOTA (Defense Of The Ancients) and WOW (World of  Warcraft ) are played  online . But there is a difference between the two.

DotA is a custom scenario for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. The two teams' ancients are heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called "creeps". As in role-playing games, players level up their hero and use gold to buy equipment during the mission.

Defense of the Ancients pits two teams of players against each other: the Sentinel and the Scourge. Players on the Sentinel team are based at the southwest corner of the map, and those on the Scourge team are based at the northeast corner. Each base is defended by towers and waves of units which guard the main paths leading to their base. In the center of each base is the "Ancient", a building that must be destroyed to win the game.

Defense of the Ancients allows up to ten players in a five versus five format and an additional two slots for referees or observers, often with an equal number of players on each side.

Killing computer-controlled units earns the player experience points; when enough experience is accumulated, the player gains a level. Leveling up improves the hero's toughness and the damage it can inflict, and allows players to upgrade their spells or skills. In addition to accumulating experience, players also manage a single resource: gold. The typical resource gathering of Warcraft III is replaced by a combat-oriented money system; in addition to a small periodic income, heroes earn gold by killing hostile units, base structures, and enemy heroes. Using gold, players buy items to strengthen their hero and gain abilities. Certain items can be combined with recipes to create more powerful items. Buying items that suit one's hero is an important tactical element of the scenario.

But WOW is more like Age of Empires. It is a better game as you have a number of options for playing it. It is not a real time strategy game so you have time to explore the landscapes, perform the quests, build upon your skills and even interact with other players.

How to Play Call of Duty 4 Online

COD4 is the short term for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It's a 1st person shooting game published and owned by Activision. There are many ways to play COD online using different gaming networks like Xfire, Hamachi, Garena etc.

But most common way is using Xfire. It automatically keeps track of when and where gamers are playing PC games online and lets their friends join them easily. Xfire has its own instant messaging, server browsing, peer-to-peer file downloading, in-game messaging, screen-shot and video capturing facilities.


For Starters, follow these steps to play COD4 Multi Player .

1) Install COD (Make sure to install PunkBuster provided within the COD setup.)

2) Download & Install Xfire.

3) Create an account in Xfire.

4) Then Download & install Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1.6 Patch.

5) Again Download & install Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1.6 - 1.7 Patch.

6) Start the game and go to OPTIONS -> MULTI PLAYER OPTIONS -> ENTER KEY CODE

7) After creating an account use your user name and password to log in to Xfire.
